Live Tuition
Our live tuition sessions are used to help students work through any issues they are stuck with after watching the lessons in our video library. These are small group tuition sessions where students can interact with tutors to help them troubleshoot specific issues related to specific topics. Tutors answer questions posed by students and work though problems together.
Each week students are scheduled for a live tuition session dedicated to a specific topic. Students are expected to watch the video lessons associated with that week's topic in the Learning Management System (LMS).
Joining the live tuition session is as simple as clicking the "Join" button on scheduled lesson in their LMS Timetable.
Each weekly live tuition session is 1 hour long but any questions that are not able to be addressed during the live session can be posted using our "Ask a Tutor" functionality. All students questions are addressed either with a reply, a new video lesson, or by scheduling an ad-hoc additional live lesson if necessary. No student question goes unanswered at Luminosity Academy.
Our Live Tuition Studios
Live sessions are broadcast from our professional streaming studios specifically setup to deliver high quality online classes. Each studio is setup with a full HD webcam, a professional broadcast quality microphone, professional lighting, a drawing tablet display and specialised visualisation software.
Our studios have a stable broadband internet connection and backup power generators so you will never have issues with bad connections or tuition not being available due to load-shedding. As long as the student has an internet connection and a laptop or mobile device, they will have access to their live tuition session.

Qualifications

Fabian has over 9 years of tutoring experience working with students at both high school and tertiary level (1st year and 2nd year university students).
Dan Govender
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science: Biomedical engineering (Rutger University - New Jersey, USA)
- Masters in Engineering Management - (Rutger University - New Jersey, USA)
Experience
Dan has over 14 years of tutoring experience with students at both high school and university level. He has extensive experience preparing students for international exams such as SAT and AP exams for entry into universities in the USA.
